Fulfilling an unmet need in our community

Inclusive fun, naturally!

Trinity Grace Farm is designed to serve children, teens, and adults who have disabilities or special needs, allowing them to enjoy outdoor activities with friends and family without having to leave their own community.

Washington County, Tenn., currently has no public parks within the county outside city limits. That’s an especially troubling fact when you consider the lack of ADA-accessible parks and playgrounds nearby for children who are differently abled.

Our Goals

Build community.

We see the regional organizations that serve those with disabilities as potential partners in our vision of a safe, accessible, and stimulating outdoor experience. These partners will be using Trinity Grace Farm as a venue for programming that gives their clientele an exciting, fun experience in the natural setting of beautiful Northeast Tennessee.

Offer learning through experience.

Experiential learning, or “learning by doing,” involves active engagement through hands-on activities. For people with disabilities, experiential learning can develop skills and knowledge while increasing self-esteem, confidence, and motivation. Trinity Grace Farm’s outdoor activities, including hiking and fishing, are experiential learning opportunities that allow those with differing abilities to connect with nature.

Provide “wow” and “aha” moments.

Through inclusive play and experiential learning, Trinity Grace Farm will provide a variety of “wow” and “aha” moments for kids, teens, and adults who are differently abled. Whether discovering colorful plants on a hike through the woods, interacting with fascinating farm animals, or entering an accessible treehouse, these moments are in abundance at Trinity Grace Farm.
